"Captured at the break of dawn on location at Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas, this abstract realism painting embodies the serene beauty of the sunrise over the water. Utilizing a harmonious blend of inks for foundational textures, along with deliberate mark-making, acrylic washes, and oil highlights, I sought to encapsulate the unique atmosphere of the area. The initial on-site inspiration was further refined with final highlights and mark-making techniques back in the studio, ensuring that every element of the painting vividly conveys the tranquil yet dynamic essence of the lakeside at sunrise."

"This piece is a meticulously hand-cut linocut block print, hand-pressed and then hand-embellished on premium 300 Strathmore print paper. Inspired by a recent hike to the petroglyphs in Gold Canyon, Arizona, this artwork captures the essence of ancient artistry encountered along the journey. Each block was carefully drawn and then hand-carved, allowing for a unique printmaking process that brings the designs to life. Following the printing, I further enhanced the piece using a combination of acrylic and oil paints, adding depth, texture, and color to create a vibrant homage to the petroglyphs' timeless beauty."

The piece is rich in textures and imbued with the vibrant hues of fall, featuring a base layer of fluorescent inks that add a luminous quality to the composition. Over these inks, I applied delicate acrylic washes followed by strategic oil highlights, creating a dynamic interplay of light and color that brings the scene to life with a profound depth and intensity."
